Most have a go days are at castles sites (see events page), but I am happy to discuss ways of bringing the activity to other sites if they are safe and suitable.
Have a go archery at Caerlaverock Castle, and fun crossbow range for younger children.
2. DEMONSTRATION AND PRESENTATION TALKS
Besides providing archery as an activity I can deliver presentation talks on the medieval longbow and crossbow, and demonstrate the weapons if the site allows. Duration is around forty minutes, and themes covered include:

• Comparing the  weapons - pros and          cons
• Manufacture
• Different types of arrow heads
• Protective clothing
• Archery by act of parliament!
• Treatment of wounds
Presenting 'Bolts & Bodkins' @edinburghcastle
The Scots experience with the longbow is discussed, looking at how Scottish archers used the bow during the Scottish Wars of Independence, and overseas during the Hundred Years War.
Q&A with the audience is positively encouraged, and there are always opportunities to get involved.
